Ortakend deposit

The Ortakend gold deposit, located in the Julfa district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, was started to be explored in 2018. From 2018 to 2022, the geologists from AzerGold CJSC carried out geological exploration at the deposit, including drilling and geophysical surveys.

The mineral resources of the deposit were estimated by an international consultant in 2024, and the approved reserves were included in the State Balance in March 2026. The project is currently at the Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) stage.

CIRPA

Chovdar Integrated Regional Processing area was established on the basis of Chovdar Ore Processing Area located in Dashkasan, within the framework of the AzerGold CJSC’s Action Plan developed in accordance with Decree dated March 19, 2020 by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the implementation of activities towards ensuring of economic stability and sustainability against outer impacts.

Aghyokhush is located at 14 km north-east from Chovdar mine, in the administrative area of Goygol district.

Marah deposit

Marah is located in the north of Chovdar mine in Dashkasan district. The mine was discovered by the geologists of AzerGold CJSC in 2018. Available amount of extractable gold reserves is 37,414 ounces. Marah which was launched in July 22, 2021, is under operation conditions.

Tulallar gold deposit is located on the north-east slope of the Lesser Caucasus, on the high and mid-mountainous areas of north-east part of the Murovdagh.

Filizchay deposit

Located at the administrative area of Balakan district, Filizchay was discovered in 1959. It is the biggest polymetallic deposit in the region and the largest project of AzerGold CJSC. Moreover, Filizchay is considered as the largest deposit in Europe and ranks high in the list of polymetallic deposits of the world in terms of the amount of its reserves. The reserves include precious and non-ferrous metals such as gold, silver, copper, zinc and lead.

Mazimchay deposit

The deposit which was discovered in 1964 in the territory of Balakan district, is located at 2-3 km from Filizchay. The first phase of exploration works has been completed in accordance with approved geological program. Implementation of the second – vital phase and commissioning is projected to start in 2027.

Goydagh deposit

Ortakand-Khanagha field located in the north-east of the Julfa district of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic area covers some part of Goydagh-Alindzha ore junction and is distinguished for its perspective in terms of gold, complex copper-porphyry and epithermal sulphide ore reserves. Ortakand epithermal gold reserves, Bashkand and Paradash copper fields are currently under pre-evaluation.

The operation of Dashkasan iron ore deposit, the largest iron ore deposits complex of the region, started during the reign of Soviet Union. Thus, Dashkasan Ore Administration was established in 1945.

Kurakchay field

Kurakchay, the deposit which is located in Goygol district and considered as one of the prospective ore fields in Lesser Caucasus, was discovered in 1995. This field is distinguished with the presence of splattered gold deposits, Kapaz, Buzlug gold-polymetallic occurrences. Kurakchay is one of the areas prioritized by AzerGold for study and evaluation in near future.
