At the initiative and organization of AzerGold CJSC, and with the support of the State Service for Protection, Development, and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture, as part of the ‘Promotion of Historical and Cultural Monuments in the Dashkasan Region’ project, information boards have been prepared and installed for the region’s historical and cultural monuments of national and local significance.
The key objective of the project, implemented as part of the CJSC’s Social Impact and Responsibility policy, is to promote the Dashkasan region, where active mining and production are performed, as not only a region rich in mineral deposits but also one of the ancient settlements with picturesque nature, architectural and archaeological monuments, and to preserve our cultural heritage. The project, implemented for this purpose, covered 46 historical-architectural monuments in the Dashkasan region, taken under governmental protection by Resolution No. 132 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated August 2, 2001.
Thus, under the project, with the involvement of representatives of AzerGold CJSC and the State Service for Protection, Development, and Restoration of Cultural Heritage, 34 archaeological monuments of national significance, 10 architectural monuments of local significance and 1 of national significance, and 1 monumental and memorial monument of local significance have been provided with information boards.
It should be noted that as part of the ‘Promotion of Historical and Cultural Monuments in the Dashkasan Region’ project launched in 2022, photos of ancient architectural and natural monuments in the region were taken, and based on these materials, a calendar catalog titled Dashkasan Monuments was prepared and presented to the general public. The calendar catalog features ancient settlements, caves, bridges, temples, and mausoleums, as well as respective information derived from various sources.
