The ‘Supporting Agricultural Development in the Dashkasan and Goygol Regions’ Project Was Launched

At the initiative of AzerGold CJSC, with the support of the Agrarian Services Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the ‘Supporting Agricultural Development in the Dashkasan and Goygol Regions’ project was launched. The project presentation event was attended by AzerGold CJSC’s Board member and Deputy Chairman, Khayyam Farzaliyev, Chairman of the Agricultural Services Agency, Sardar Hajiyev, Deputy Head of the Dashkasan Executive Power, Vugar Mammadov, Deputy Head of the Goygol Executive Power, Arzu Gojayev, and representatives of local executive authorities, municipalities, and other public figures.
It was noted that the project is being implemented in the Dashkasan and Goygol regions, where AzerGold CJSC operates, to contribute to increasing the productivity of livestock and crop farms and support the arrangement of the agricultural activity in compliance with the environmental protection standards and requirements. For this purpose, as part of the project, it is planned to perform a total of 24 phytosanitary monitoring and 12 fumigation sessions, take plant protection measures in 150 locations, and conduct laboratory tests, examination of soil and water samples, and agrochemical analyses on agricultural lands during the year. 6 veterinary inspections in livestock farms, including general clinical examinations of 280 cattle, 285 small ruminants, and 123 bee colonies, blood sample analyses, and 7 disinfection sessions in livestock facilities with a total area of 2,026 m² are also planned.
As part of the project, it is also planned to perform over 60 training sessions for farmers engaged in livestock and crop production, inform them of methods and procedures for combating harmful organisms and especially dangerous infectious diseases in planting, phytosanitary monitoring, fumigation measures, as well as agrochemical analyses of soils to prevent environmental pollution, and provide necessary consultations.
This will support the further development of farms in villages and settlements located near the mines operated by AzerGold CJSC, contributing additionally to the improvement of employment and socioeconomic conditions of the population.
