It was noted that the development of the mining and metallurgical industry is one of Azerbaijan's economic priorities. In this context, the State Program covering the years 2027–2030 holds significant importance for the future development of the sector.
The Ambassador stated that Colombia attaches special importance to the development of its mining sector and is interested in attracting foreign investment to this field. According to her, out of 31 strategic mining areas identified in Colombia, 16 are considered promising for the study and development of gold and copper reserves. Opportunities for implementing potential projects within this framework were brought to attention.
At the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize a separate session featuring relevant sector experts from both sides to define concrete areas of cooperation. During that upcoming meeting, potential projects regarding the exploration and development of Colombia's mineral resources, alongside other mutually beneficial cooperation opportunities, will be examined. Depending on the outcomes of these discussions, the prospects for possible cooperation between the parties will be evaluated.
