AzerGold CJSC Has Met with Kenyan Businessmen

The Chairman of the Board of AzerGold Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC), Zakir Ibrahimov held a meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Kenya, visiting our country.

Welcoming the guests, Zakir Ibrahimov expressed satisfaction with strengthening friendly relations and collaboration between Azerbaijan and Kenya, both bilaterally and at the level of international organizations. He stressed significant prospects for the development of economic relations, particularly in establishing cooperation in the mining sector.

Then, Zakir Ibrahimov spoke about AzerGold CJSC’s achievements in its areas of activity, the Company's strategic plans, and the work done to improve economic efficiency in the mining sector. Z. Ibrahimov highlighted AzerGold CJSC’s successful experience of cooperation with international companies since its establishment and noted that future expanding activity beyond the country's borders is part of the CJSC’s strategic plans. He also pointed out the potential interest in the mineral-rich African continent.

The visitors representing Kenyan business circles noted that agriculture is the backbone of their economy, however, the metallurgical industry, particularly, iron ore processing is well-developed. They provided information on Kenyan gold deposits, as well as prospects for collaboration in exploiting various metal resources, including copper, zinc, etc., along with the opportunities created for investors, incentives, benefits, and privileges in this field.

The openness of AzerGold CJSC to beneficial initiatives, including the exchange of experiences, was highlighted. The possibility of assessing prospects for collaboration in the mining industry between relevant institutions, both public and private, was noted. Then, the parties extensively exchanged views on promoting legal mining, plans for implementing green energy and green technologies in mining projects, and other issues of mutual interest.
