ASOIU management makes a visit to Daskasan Iron Ore Field

The management of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) visited Dashkasan Iron Ore Field. the Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, as well as the staff members of the university took part in the site visit.
Ogtay Mammadov, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of AzerGold CJSC gave detailed information about Dashkasan Iron Ore Field and the work currently being carried out in the field. It was noted that in accordance with the Presidential Decree dated August 6, 2020, the Company was instructed to prepare a preliminary assessment in respect of the commissioning of Dashkasan ore field. In this regard, comprehensive geological surveys are being provided in accordance with international standards. To date, the Company has accomplished several tasks, such as the development of mining plans, determination of extraction method, calculation of economic indicators and other relevant work. According to Mammadov, 7830 meters of drilling work was carried out last year on Dashkasan deposits and the process is underway. The initial assessment of the field is to be completed by August this year.
Rector of ADNSU, Professor Mustafa Babanli expressed a high opinion of AzerGold’s consistent activities towards launching new mines. Noting that the development of the country's mining sector has a great impact on increasing employment and providing regular jobs for qualified young people, the rector spoke about the importance of the memorandum of cooperation signed between ASOIU and AzerGold CJSC. He also emphasized that the staff of the university with scientific and theoretical knowledge gained relevant experience in the production areas of the Company in accordance with the memorandum. Besides, the employment of the graduates distinguished for their good performance is worthy of praise as well.
Notably, the meeting also discussed the expansion of cooperation and the implementation of joint research work. Afterwards, the guests got acquainted with the core logging facilities, laboratory, refinery, as well as the North-West mine located in the area, and met with the geologists of AzerGold CJSC.
