AzerGold CJSC to Expand the Implementation of Innovative Technologies in Geological Exploration

Geological exploration is among the key activities of AzerGold Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC). According to the CJSC’s geological exploration strategy for 2023-2024, in 2023, the Joint-Stock Company performed active geophysical and geological exploration in Dashkasan, Goygol, Balakan, Kalbajar, as well as the Julfa region of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. In 2024, it is planned to continue the exploration and assessment to identify the prospective mineralization zones in the explored areas.

Also, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 22, 2023, AzerGold CJSC was charged with performing a part of the general geological exploration in the country during 2023-2024 under a state order. For this purpose, exploration areas have been expanded in Dashkasan, Goygol, Kalbajar, as well as the Julfa region of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and it is planned to perform geological exploration in the Goranboy, Ordubad, and Shahbuz regions. To shortly obtain initial exploration results for the said areas, starting from 2024, innovative technologies will be widely implemented. Thus, in the current year, the exploratory shooting to take non-invasive hyperspectral satellite images will be continued and an aeromagnetic survey will be performed using helicopters and drones. These exploration techniques will allow for identifying promising areas for the next ground-surface exploration and assessment phase. Thus, wells requiring more resources will be drilled based on coordinates covering a smaller area.
